Former NFL first-round QB Paxton Lynch heading to Riders

A quarterback that the Denver Broncos hoped would lead them to NFL glory after Peyton Manning retired is now a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

On Monday, the green-and-white announced they had signed Paxton Lynch to a contract.

The Broncos made Lynch the 26th pick overall of the 2016 NFL draft after a career at the University of Memphis where he threw for 8,863 yards and 59 touchdowns in three seasons played.  He was the third quarterback taken in the draft that year behind Jared Goff and Carson Wentz.

Lynch had a 1-3 record for the Broncos throwing four touchdowns and four interceptions.  He has not played an NFL fame since 2017.

He joins Cody Fajardo, Isaac Harker, Mason Fine, Luke Falk and Tom Flacco as quarterbacks coming to camp.
