Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe will be at the Cowessess First Nation Tuesday for a signing ceremony finalizing the transition to a child welfare system led by the band.
In a release. Cowessess Chief Cadmus Delorme says “The coordination agreement is a transition plan to assure the transfer of jurisdiction is professional and at the pace of Cowessess First Nation and that the fiscal agreement confirms the investment the Government of Canada and Government of Saskatchewan takes in supporting the Cowessess First Nation.”

Trudeau and Moe will also take a tour with Chief Delorme of the area where over 700 unmarked graves were found last month near the site of the former Marieval Indian Residential School.
