Rosetown RCMP, Fire and Ambulance attended to a fatal two-vehicle crash on Highway 7 near Fiske, which is roughly 20 minutes west of Rosetown. The collision occurred on Thursday.

Two people have been confirmed dead at this time after a semi collided with an SUV. Initial investigation indicates the SUV — traveling westbound — merged into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with the semi truck. The driver of the semi was treated for minor injuries in a nearby hospital.

Highway 7 was been blocked off in both directions, but has since re-opened. It has been confirmed the semi was not carrying hazardous materials at the time of the crash.

The investigation is still ongoing.
