Farmers in Saskatchewan are being advised to take precautions to avoid combine fires during harvest.
Weyburn crop extension specialist Sherri Roberts says there have been some combine fires during harvest, including an incident at nearby McTaggart this week.
She says the fire was put out but advises farmers to carry a fire extinguisher.
Roberts also suggests a water truck in the field and possibly a tractor with a discer to quickly create a fire break.
She says hot dry weather, a spark and grain dust can create a hazardous situation at harvest.
