Another milestone day for Saskatchewan on the COVID-19 case front after 244 new cases were announced on the province’s dashboard.
It’s the highest single-day case total since May 8, when Saskatchewan saw 271 new cases.
The new cases come from Saskatoon (52), Regina (35), the North East (34), the North Central (24), the Far North east (19), the South Central (16), the South East (13), the North West (11), the Far North west (nine), the Central East (nine), the Central West (six), the South West (three), and the Far North Central (one).
Another 66 people have recovered, but the active case count is still shooting up 1,381. That’s the highest active case count since May 30. The seven-day average of daily new cases is 146.
There are 84 people in hospital with COVID-19, including 15 in ICU.
Another 2,320 tests were administered and processed.
When it comes to the vaccination effort, 1,543 people received a dose of COVID vaccine in Saskatchewan on Thursday, including 552 people receiving their first dose.
There’s now 681,388 people fully vaccinated in Saskatchewan.
