Closure of U.S. land and ferry borders extended one more month

Canadians wanting to drive into the U.S or take a ferry in will have to wait at least one more month, according to multiple reports Friday morning.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security says that their land and ferry crossings will remain closed to non-essential travelers at Canada and Mexico, until at least September 21st.

The border has been closed to non-essential travelers at Canada since March of 2020, it was set to re-open Saturday.

Much like Canada, the Delta variant has been driving a fourth wave of COVID-19 infections in the U.S.

Air travel will not be affected, Canada is still planning to allow fully vaccinated travelers in beginning September 7.
