Grain prices shows wild swings during harvest

It has been an interesting week for grain prices.

Viterra elevator prices near Regina for the week have jumped over 14 dollars a ton for feed barley, flax is up 90 dollars a ton, Lentils are up 118 dollars a ton, oats have risen 10 dollars, and yellow peas have gained 24 dollars a ton.

But the two main grain prices, spring wheat and canola, are showing downward movement.

P.I. Financial commodity futures advisor Adam Pukalo says canola futures are down 13 dollars a ton this week while spring wheat has fallen 30 cents a bushel at Minneapolis.

He says these prices are down because of recent rain in parts of the U.S.
