Two Regina teens are facing charges in connection to the bear spray incident over the weekend at the Queen City Ex.
Just before 6:00 PM on Saturday, officers and Evraz Place security staff learned of the bear spray incident in the eastern section of the midway. Several victims had reported symptoms consistent of a bear spray exposure.
Security was able to detain two teenaged boys who had a canister of bear spray and a BB gun described as a “very realistic Glock-styled” gun.
Both youths can’t be named due to their age, but a 15-year-old faces three charges:
- Possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace (BB gun),
- Breach of undertaking,
- Mischief under $5,000.
meanwhile a 13-year-old faces four charges:
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon (bear spray),
- Mischief under $5,000,
- Carrying a concealed weapon,
- Possession of a prohibited weapon.
Both appeared in court Monday morning.
