Another vaccine option is now available to children 12 and older.

Health Canada approved the use of Moderna’s mRNA COVID-19 vaccine for children 12 and older on Friday, joining the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which received approval in May.

Moderna’s vaccine was originally approved for adults in December, 2020.

According to the clinical trials, two doses of Moderna vaccines was 100 percent effective in participants between the ages of 12 to 17 two weeks after receiving both doses.
