Vale Industries of Indian Head is hoping to ramp up production of a new piece of farm equipment unveiled last fall.

The agriculture division manager at Vale Industries, Al Bergen, says a portable bin for harvest has been well received.

Its called the Grain Giant.

‘Demand  is increasing, this is a tough year, there’s no doubt about it, ag sales are down across the prairies, but there’s still an incredible interest in this product,” said Bergen. “There’s lot of eyes turning our direction, and rightly so, and I think for next year, we’re going to be looking at that around 30 units and building from there.”

Bergen says the company made six portable 6,500 bushel storage bins this year and hopes to manufacture 30 next year.

The bins retail for $275,000.
