Thunder hand Hilltops second straight loss in dramatic fashion

After losing their starting quarterback late in the third quarter, the Regina Thunder rallied back for yet another thrilling victory over the Saskatoon Hilltops by a score of 30-27.

After Carter Shewchuk went down with a right shoulder injury late, 19-year-old backup Zenon Orobko came into the game with the team down by four points and needing a touchdown.

Orobko relied heavily on receiver Rylan Sokul down the stretch, who had two spectacular grabs on the sidelines to keep the drive going.

Orobko eventually found Isaiah Woodley for the game-winning score with 1:14 left in the game.

The Hilltops, led by quarterback Damon Dutton, bounced back quickly and drove the ball into scoring position where Justin McKerracher would seal the Thunder victory with an endzone interception with just 7 seconds left on the clock.

The undefeated Thunder will head to Edmonton next week to take on the Huskies, while the 2-2 Hilltops will host the Winnipeg Rifles
