519 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan

The active COVID-19 case count in Saskatchewan is now at 4,672 after the announcement of 519 new cases with 407 of those coming in people who are unvaccinated.

The new cases are located in the Far North West (23), Far North Central (1), Far North East (21), North West (63), North Central (53), North East (20), Saskatoon (136), Central West (10), Central East (33), Regina (54), South West (21), South Central (26) and South East (19) zones and thirty nine (39) new cases have pending residence information.

There were also two more deaths bringing the provincial death total to 641.

There are 253 individuals in hospital including 197 inpatient hospitalizations and 56 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 253 patients, 189 (74.7%) were not fully vaccinated.  This breaks the record set on Sunday for hospitalizations and those needing a stay in the ICU.

The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 494, or 41  new cases per 100,000.

2,623 vaccines were delivered Sunday with 1,522 of them being first doses.
