SARM sees federal election result as no big surprise

The president of SARM says there is no big surprise in Monday’s federal election results.

Ray Orb says the election saw little change in the Liberal and Conservative seat numbers, with Justin Trudeau retaining a minority government.

Orb says the decision to call the vote was not wise and costly.

But he wants to focus on improving farm issues at the federal level.

Orb says he is willing to continue working with the Liberal government on key rural issues of carbon tax, farm transportation, infrastructure and internet improvements.
