Capital Auto Mall and Conexus Arts Centre announce partnership; renaming of main theatre

The main theatre at the Conexus Arts Centre will soon be known as the Capital Auto Theatre.

On Friday morning the Capital Auto Mall and Conexus Arts Centre announced a renewed partnership.

Capital Auto Mall’s financial contributions will help Conexus fund ongoing operations, new event programming, and assist with upgrades of various pieces of equipment at the centre.

“Event and arts organizations like the centre cannot survive without the ongoing support from Corporate Partners like the Capital Auto Group. We are very thankful for this support as we return to host live events at this magnificent facility,” Neil Donnelly, Conexus Arts Centre CEO said in a release.

The Conexus Arts Centre seats just over 2,000 in the main theatre, and 1,600 in the convention hall.

“The Capital Auto Mall staff and family believe in supporting Regina and southern Saskatchewan. Capital Cares is actively involved in all communities we serve. We believe that a strong arts and cultural community is important and as such are pleased to engage in the long-term support of the Conexus Arts Centre and the Capital Auto Theatre,” the Axelson family, who are the Capital Auto Group founders, said in a release.

The new agreement will be for at least the next five years.
