A youth has been charged in connection to a suspicious death that took place early Friday morning in Choiceland, which is about 43 kilometers northwest of Nipawin.

RCMP responded to the scene at about 1:45 AM for a report of a deceased person at a residence in Choiceland. A 37-year-old woman was declared dead at the scene, and her family was notified.

As a result of the investigation, a youth — who cannot be named due to their age — has been charged with first degree murder.

The youth made their first court appearance in Melfort this morning.
