Sask provides 3.2 million dollars to Global Institute for Food Security

The Saskatchewan government is providing 3.2 million dollars to the Global Institute for Food Security at the U of S.

Agriculture minister David Marit says the support goes to the new engineering biology centre.

The centre will attract investments and companies looking to set up new research and development in the agri-food sector.

He says work at the centre will ensure farmers have access to crop varieties adapted to Saskatchewan’s climate and will find new ways to add value to this province’s crop and livestock products.
