COVID-19 hospitalizations reaches new record high

There’s never been more people in Saskatchewan’s hospitals being treated for COVID-19 than there are now.

A total of 321 patients are in hospital dealing with COVID-19, which is up 15 from Saturday’s numbers. There are 69 patients in ICU.

This comes as 354 more people have tested positive for COVID-19. The new cases come from Saskatoon (84), Regina (73), the north west (54), the south west (21), the central east (19), the north central (18), the south central (16), the south east (15), the north east (11), the central west (seven), the far north west (five), and the far north central (three).

Three more people have died after testing positive for COVID-19, bringing the death toll up to 711.

Another 457 people have recovered. The active case count is down to 4,718.

There were 2,905 tests that were processed Saturday.

Another 5,375 new doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered, including 2,755 first doses. A total of 741,173 people in Saskatchewan are now fully vaccinated.
