Another grim milestone has been reached in Saskatchewan in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Another four people have died after testing positive for the virus according to the province’s dashboard numbers released on Sunday, meaning a total of 751 people have died after testing positive for COVID-19.

Saskatchewan is the last of the western provinces to reach 750 deaths. All of the provinces in Atlantic Canada as well as the territories are the two other regions that have less deaths related to COVID-19 than the province.

When it comes to new cases, 425 were announced in the province on Sunday. The new cases come from Saskatoon (115), the north west (57), Regina (49), the south east (40), the north central (39), the central east (35), the south west (21), the far north west (13), the far north east (13), the central west (12) and the south central (12).

There are 347 people in hospital with COVID-19, including 79 patients in ICU.

Another 466 people have recovered, dropping the active case count down to 4,658.

Another 2,995 new tests were processed. A total of 1,175,318 have been processed since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in Saskatchewan.

When it comes to vaccines, another 2,192 doses were reported, including 1,030 first doses. It’s the first time in six days that second doses (1,162) have outpaced first doses.

A total of 755,874 people are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in Saskatchewan.
