Five more deaths and 231 new cases of COVID-19 reported Saturday

Saskatchewan reported 231 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, along with five additional deaths in people who previously tested positive.

The death toll is now 817 in Saskatchewan.

The new cases included 48 in the Saskatoon zone and 43 in the Regina region.

Active cases are down by 95 from Friday, and currently sit at 3,040.

However 288 people remain in hospitals around the province with COVID-19, including 77 in ICUs.

Another 4,146 more doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered around Saskatchewan, 2,735 of those are second doses.

More than 778,000 people in Saskatchewan are now considered fully vaccinated.
