A seven game losing streak is over for the Regina Pats, who topped the Swift Current Broncos 4-1 on the road Friday night.

Cole Dubinsky and Zach Stringer each scored twice in the win, while Matthew Kieper made 27 saves.

The Pats also fired 48 shots on net in a win that Coach Dave Struch said was well earned after sticking to what they’ve been trying to work on throughout this week.

“We did tweak a little bit of the stuff that we worked on this week,” Struch said on the 620 CKRM post-game show. “We were able to get pucks up the ice quick and in deep, we played fast, overall start to finish goaltender out we’re really proud of the guys,” he added.

“We’ve talked so much abut how well we’ve played with the puck and how we’ve generated so much offence over the course of this losing streak it’s so great to actually get this win,” Struch said. “It looked like the usual with just having two goals until near the end of the game there, but our guys played so hard,” he said.

The two teams will faceoff again Saturday night, this time at the Brandt Centre in Regina.

The puck drops at 7:00 p.m. online on CKRM2 with Dante De Caria.
