Historic night for Regina’s Ryan Getzlaf

The Anaheim Ducks all-time leading scorer is Regina’s Ryan Getzlaf.

The 36-year-old recorded his 989th point, breaking the record set by Teemu Selanne,  as he assisted on a goal by Troy Terry in the 3rd period of a 4-2 win over Montreal on Sunday.

Getzlaf reached the feat in what was his 1,111th game with the Ducks.  He has 279 goals and 710 assists.

Getzlaf has been a constant for the Ducks since he was drafted 19th overall in 2003. He made his NHL debut in 2005 and emerged the following season in helping Anaheim win the Stanley Cup.
