Wednesday’s COVID-19 update from the province shows 173 new cases of the virus and three new deaths which brings the provincial death total to 862.
The new cases are located in the Far North West (9), Far North East (10), North West (8), North Central (14), North East (3), Saskatoon (51), Central West (2), Central East (23), Regina (24), South West (4), South Central (2) and South East (17) zones and six (6) new cases have pending residence information. The active case count has dropped again as it now stands at 1,765. That is the lowest total the province has seen since there were 1,753 cases on August 27.

There are 226 individuals in hospital including 51 in the ICU. Of the 226 patients, 154 were not fully vaccinated. The 51 people receiving intensive care do not include those receiving care out of province.
2,328 vaccines were put into the arms of Saskatchewan people on Tuesday with 1,662 of those being in people who have now had both shots and will soon be considered as fully vaccinated. The 1,662 vaccines also put the province past the 800,000 mark when it comes to people who have had both shots.
