Make it three straight wins for the Regina Pats, who topped the rival Moose Jaw Warriors 4-3 at the Brandt Centre Wednesday night.
Luke Bateman scored the winner late in the 2nd period, Zach Smith, Braxton Whitehead and Zach Stringer also scored.
Matthew Kieper made 33 saves in front of 3,451 fans.
Forward Drew Englot spoke with Dante De Caria on the 620 CKRM postgame show, and said after losing seven straight it’s a good feeling to see consistency finally paying off.
” I think we’ve been showing good things in these games, obviously we had a tough stretch, but just being consistent was the biggest thing,” Englot said. “Finally we’re starting to find our groove here and it’s just the start, hopefully we can get our fourth straight win coming up here,” he added.
For the Pats, now 5-7-0-0, that opportunity will come Saturday night when they host the Brandon Wheat Kings at the Brandt Centre, a team who currently holds an identical record.
Also before the game, the Pats, along with Enbridge and Sherwood Co-op, presented a $40,000 cheque to the Regina Food Bank in the first installment of the teams We Care Weekday Program.
The Pats, in partnership with @Brandt_Group, have announced that @Enbridge & @sherwood_coop teamed up for the first 𝙒𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙒𝙚𝙚𝙠𝙙𝙖𝙮 game!
Each committed $10,000 to the @ReginaFoodBank, which Brandt is matching, for a total of $40,000!
