Harker ready for Saturday start in Hamilton

The schedule may show Saturday’s regular-season finale for the Riders is a nothing game as win or lose they know they will be taking on the Calgary Stampeders at Mosaic Stadium on November 28 in the Western semi-final, but don’t tell that to Isaac Harker.

“I’m a competitor so I want to win,” Harker said “As far as I’m concerned we’ve got to win this one and I’m always going to feel that way no matter what the standings are.”

Head Coach Craig Dickenson is also looking forward to seeing what Harker can do in what will be his 2nd professional start.

“He’s had good practices all through this season.  I just expect him to play like he does in practice, which is efficient.” Dickenson said. “Is he going to make some mistakes? Yes, but I want to see a consistent, steady, reliable performance and I think he’s got that. I want to see a guy who does a good job of directing traffic and gets the ball to the right people.”

A win on Saturday would result in the Riders being 10-4 on the season but while they are resting several regulars like Cody Fajardo, Duke Williams, Dan Clark, Loucheiz Purifoy and Micah Teitz, the Ti-Cats are playing with all of their regulars as they try to clinch second place in the East.

Game time on 620 CKRM is at 3 p.m. Saturday with our pre-game show starting at noon.
