The provincial government says between 8:00 a.m. and noon on Tuesday, around 12,000 appointments were booked for pediatric COVID-19 vaccinations.
Health Canada announced on Friday that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine meant for those five to 11 was eligible to be used in Canada.
It’s expected vaccines will begin to be administered Wednesday in Regina and Saskatoon.
Rural areas will start to see vaccines go into arms more than likely on Friday.
Information on booking an appointment or finding a clinic near you is available at Saskatchewan.ca/covid-19.
COVID-19 vaccinations for children five to 11 will eventually be available in 221 clinics in 141 communities and more than 100 schools.
The pediatric vaccine will also be available in 236 pharmacies.
Vaccination clinics in schools will first see parents and students receive information directly.

Unvaccinated adults will also be able to book an appointment at the same time as their child.
