Late penalty trouble sees Pats lose fourth in a row to Broncos

A return home did not see the Regina Pats return to their winning ways as they lost 5-4 last night to the Swift Current Broncos.

Regina would get down early but erased the two-goal deficit with Easton Armstrong (2) and Borya Valis (4) both scoring to head into the second period tied at two apiece.

Both teams traded goals in the second, with the Broncos once again striking first, but Connor Bedard (12) tied the game up halfway through the period.

Jakob Brook (1) gave the Pats the lead in the final frame, but the Broncos would strike twice in just over two minutes, including a powerplay goal to provide them with the 5-4 win.

For the Broncos, Matthew Ward and Caleb Wyrostok both two goals in the game, with Owen Pickering picking up three assists.

Bedard finished the game with a goal and two assists.

Regina has now lost four in a row, seeing their record slip to 9-14 to sit second-last in the Eastern Conference.

The Pats’ next contest is on Wednesday, December 8, as they host the Medicine Hat Tigers (4-14-3-1) at the Brandt Centre at 7 p.m.
