Fans toss bears while the Pats tossed the Raiders 5-2

The Regina Pats picked up a W while others had to pick up a lot of teddy bears last night at the Brandt Centre on Teddy Bear Toss Night as the Pats beat the PA Raiders 5-2.

Tanner Howe scored the goal that signaled for the Teddy Bears to be tossed on the ice.

Layton Feist, Logan Nijhoff, Zane Rowan and Cole Carrier added goals for the Pats

Matthew Kieper made 25 saves in the win.

Defenceman Parker Berge says the win was a real team effort especially without the services of Conner Bedard. “There’s a lot of energy on our bench and I definitely led to our play on the ice and everybody was committed to making sure that we could do everything we could on the defensive side of the puck leading into the offense because obviously Conner is not here, lots of guys stepped up today.”

16 year old forward Matteo Michaels picked up his first point as a Pat on Rowan’s goal, and Michaels is hoping the first point is a sign of things to come. “Finally get the first point, maybe they’ll start coming in, our line has been really hot the last few games so hopefully we’ll get in the next one.”

The Pats return to action tonight as they head to Brandon to face the Wheat Kings. You can catch the game 620 CKRM beginning with the pregame show at 6:35.
