Regina Police make a timely arrest

The Regina Police and members from the Stolen Auto Unit were able to make interrupt a crime from transpiring Friday morning.

Police were alerted to a break in at an auto dealership in the 600 block of Albert Street.

A suspect male was observed trying keys on various vehicles in the parking lot. At the same time, police received information from a security firm employed by the victim business that a male had just broken into the showroom taking several key fobs with him.

Police were able to arrest a 40 year-old male, just as he was getting into one of the vehicles on the lot. In a search incident to the arrest, police found several key fobs from the dealership.

Further investigation led to charges in connection with a similar Break & Enter occurrence in which a vehicle was stolen, as well as a theft of gas in a drive-off incident.

Both of those incidents happened on December 8th.
