SaskTel has announced the start of deployment of its 5G wireless network.

The 5G network delivers ultra-fast data speeds, massive network capacity and near instantaneous connection.

Initially launching in parts of Regina, SaskTel plans to expand its 5G network throughout Regina and Saskatoon in Spring 2022.

SaskTel minister Don Morgan says 5G will be a foundation for Saskatchewan’s economic growth, to help drive innovation across every major industry while enhancing the ability to connect with one another.

SaskTel says 5G will be a foundation for next generation innovations in agri-tech, smart cities, virtual health, internet technology, online gaming and many other industries.

To enjoy the benefits, customers will need to be within 5G coverage, have 5G capable devices and subscribe to 5G wireless plan.
