City of Moose Jaw approves 2022 budget with 5.45 percent tax increase

Moose Jaw City Council has approved an operating budget for 2022.

The new budget was approved by a 6-1 vote on Wednesday.

Included is a 5.45 percent tax increase.

Of that, 3.84 will be for City services, with the remainder going to the Moose Jaw Police Service.

That means the average household in Moose Jaw will see a property tax increase of about $6.75 per month.

Moose Jaw residents will also see their water bill increase by about $45.00 per year.

Regina City Council will begin debating it’s proposed operating budget Thursday morning.
