Pats use hot start to beat Warriors

The Regina Pats used a great start to carry them to a 6-5 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors last night.

Regina scored four goals in the first period from Tanner Howe (10), Cole Dubinsky (9), Cole Carrier (11), and Logan Nijhoff (10). Moose Jaw would score in the last 30 seconds to cut into the Pats lead and swing the momentum.

The Pats would get an early second-period goal from Layton Feist (2) to extend the lead to 5-1, but the Warriors would score three times in the second to make it a 5-4 game after 40 minutes.

In the final frame, Tanner Howe’s (11) second goal of the game would prove to be the different-maker as Moose Jaw would score once more.

Four Pats picked up multi-point games: TannerHowe (2G, 1A), Cole Dubinsky (1G, 1A), Logan Nijhoff (1G, 1A) and Borya Valis (2A).

The Pats wrap up their first-half schedule on Saturday night in the back half of their home-and-home with the Warriors at 7 p.m.
