Sask farmers and food businesses provide support to Regina Food Bank

Local farmers are stepping up to help the Regina food bank feed those in need this holiday season.

The vice president of the Regina Food Bank, David Froh, says local farmer Roy Klym of Condi Seeds has made a major oats donation to the food bank.

Klym of Condi Seeds has donated 42 tons of oats.

He says the food bank has huge demand this month.

The 67 thousand bags of oats are cleaned at Condi seeds, processed at Avena Foods and bagged at CanMar Foods in Regina.

Froh says the Food bank will support 10 thousand people this month.

The donation is valued at half a million dollars.
