Over two years into the pandemic – many Saskatchewan residents are having a hard time sifting through the numbers attached to COVID-19.

Part of our continued coverage of the virus here at CKRM Source News is based on daily reports issued by the provincial government. The January 12th report saw an increase in overall COVID-19 cases – but a drop in provincial ICU numbers. The province also saw 617 recoveries.

The province of Saskatchewan reported 1084 cases of COVID-19 on January 12th.

Of the new cases, 416 are in the Saskatoon region, 287 are in the Regina area, 23 are in the southwest region.

There are 121 hospitalized cases due to COVID-19, including nine patients in the ICU – that number has dropped by two patients today.

Two thousand two hundred seventeen new doses of the vaccine were administered, with 1416 Saskatchewan residents now being fully vaccinated.

Our test positivity rate remained at 30%.
