Curling Canada has announced that the fields for the 2022 Scotties Tournament of Hearts and the Tim Hortons Brier will be expanded to 18 teams.

The Scotties is scheduled for January 28-February 6 in Thunder Bay, while the Brier is slated for March 4-13 in Lethbridge.

The top three teams on the Canadian Team Ranking System that didn’t qualify for the Scotties and Brier through a provincial/territorial playdown will receive an invitation.

One of the Wild Card teams in the Scotties is Chelsea Carey’s rink from the Highland Curling Club.

Carey was defeated by Penny Barker in the Viterra Scotties this past weekend in Assiniboia.

Barker’s rink will be the Team Saskatchewan representative at the Scotties in Thunder Bay.
