A third major canola crushing plant announced for Regina

A third multi-million dollar canola crushing plant has been announced for Regina.

Federated Co-ops has announced a 2 billion dollar Integrated Agriculture Complex north of the Co-op refinery.

The complex will include a renewable bio-diesel facility from crushed canola.

A 360 million dollar canola crushing plant, a joint venture with AGT foods, is part of the project.

Federated Co-ops CEO Scott Banda says the new complex represents another step in FCL’s strategy to adapt to challenges of the low carbon economy.

Banda says the new facility will supply about half the required needs for the new bio-diesel plant.

Cargill have also announced major canola crushing plants for Regina.
