Saskatchewan farm leaders applaud a new provincial public awareness campaign on mental health and addictions.
Saskatchewan Stock Growers president Kelcy Elford says farmers are facing major stresses from weather, markets and the pandemic.
Elford is appealing to anyone feeling depressed to reach out for available support services, saying it is not a sign of weakness to do so.
He says he had to help bury a friend last Friday who lost the battle with mental health.
APAS president Ian Boxall is also expressing support for the new provincial mental health awareness campaign.
This years provincial public awareness campaign theme is, there is help, there is hope and includes radio, t.v., billboards, cinema, transit buses and social media.
