Brace yourselves Saskatchewan – a clipper storm system is on it’s way. The clipper will bring a combination of fresh snow, possible freezing rain, and winds that could exceed 90 kilometers an hour across the province.
Meteorologist with Environment Canada Terri Lang says different parts of the province will see different versions of the clipper – but it’s all bad.
“The central parts of the province will be experiencing snowfall. Kindersley down towards Estevan will see more intense blizzard like conditions. High winds will be in the South West portion of the province – where we can expect gusts upward of 90 kilometers per hour.”
Lang says the system will likely have most of the province in it’s grip towards the evening.
Already the storm is taking it’s toll on Saskatchewan highways – with travel advisories for sections of the province being updated regularly.
