Regina Restaurant Week kicks off on Tuesday

Residents will have a chance to experience some of the best food the Queen City has to offer with an exciting event.

Regina Restaurant Week presented by Regina Downtown Business Improvement District runs from February 1-14 with 11 restaurants participating.

Manager of Member Engagement, Sophie Pitman says the event is vital for the success of the local downtown restaurant industry. “Winter months are a little bit slower, but even now with the past two years that we’ve had it’s more important to be going to these local restaurants and the nice thing about events like these is because we have a bunch of restaurants with exclusive menu items that you can’t always get all the time it really encourages people to try new restaurants.”

While restaurants are normally competing against each other, events like Regina Restaurant Week creates a situation that has the local restaurants working together. Pitman says with all the restaurants working together, it makes the event a success. “Everyone has something different to bring to the table, literally, so they can experience lots of cuisine, lots of different courses.”

Regina Restaurant Week will be held in conjunction that Frost Regina that kicks off this weekend. Pitman noted it was important to partner with Frost Regina. “When people come to our downtown hub, they can enjoy the winter activities being outside and then go for a nice warm meal at one of our restaurants.”
