For the 1st time in it’s 130 year history the Regina Police Service has a female Deputy Chief.

Lorilee Davies is an officer with a career spanning more than 25 years. Having been a part of community advocacy groups and being at the forefront of  the RPS Truth and Reconciliation Committee – Davies is an officer with community in mind.

Deputy Chief Davies is excited about the opportunity ahead of her. “I’m humbled that I was able to take on this new role. There is a lot of great work ahead, and we’re heading down some great paths in terms of community safety.”

Davies feels that the RPS Truth and reconciliation committee will now have a greater voice within the RPS with her being in the position of Deputy Chief.  She adds that collaboration with a variety of community groups is the future of policing in the Queen City.

“We need to continue down the pathway of collaboration with all of our partners who are involved in community safety and wellbeing. The Prevalence of firearms in the city and the amount of drug overdoses our officers see 0 it really is a changed environment from when I started a number of years ago. As long as we are willing to listen and sit down at the table with our partners we are headed in the right direction making big changes and improvements.”
