A two-month-long investigation has resulted in one man being charged with weapons manufacturing.
Earlier this month on February 10, the Regina Police Service Crime Reduction Team along with their partners at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) concluded the investigation surrounding the illegal importation of prohibited devices into Canada.
The CBSA Vancouver International Mail Centre, Regina Police Service and CBSA investigators executed a search warrant in the 300 Block of Holland Avenue in Regina, taking a 58-year-old Regina man into custody.
During the search of the residence, investigators located 3D printers, restricted and non-restricted firearms, firearm parts, ammunition, prohibited weapons, prohibited devices, and 3D printed firearm components.
Fifty-eight-year-old Scott Herbert Loveday is charged with:
- Four counts of weapons manufacturing
- Seven counts of possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon knowing its possession were unauthorized
- Two counts of possession of weapons for the purpose of trafficking
- One count of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- One count of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
- One count of importing a prohibited device knowing it is unauthorized
Loveday made his first court appearance in Provincial Court on Friday, February 11.
