Man killed in weekend collision with train

A 65 year old man was killed in a collision with a train this past weekend.

Police responded to a report of a accident between a train and a motor vehicle on March 6th, on highway #9 east of Waldron.

The man was traveling with three youths who were also injured – no official report on their condition was issued by police.

The deceased’s family has been notified, no name has been released, the man was a resident of the Ochapowace Nation.

Highway #9 was closed during initial investigation, but has since re-opened. Melville RCMP and a Saskatchewan RCMP Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
