The Tim Horton’s Brier Page playoff will have a Saskatchewan flavour to it.
Saskatoon Nutana’s Colton Flasch rink won 10-3 over Northern Ontario’s Brad Jacobs Friday afternoon, mere hours after defeating Matt Dunstone 9-5 in a tiebreaker.
Flasch put the game on ice with a takeout to count for three with his last rock in the seventh end. Jacobs, who won Olympic gold in 2014 and the Brier the year before that, conceded after the seventh end.
In a pair of matches to determine seeding, Flasch will face Alberta’s Kevin Koe rink, with defending Brier champion Brendan Bottcher taking on undefeated wildcard rink skipped by Newfoundland and Labrador’s Brad Gushue. Both matches will take place Friday night.
The 3/4 playoff and 1/2 playoff games take place Saturday with the semifinal at 10 a.m. Sunday and the final at 5 p.m.
