The University of Regina Cougars men’s and women’s basketball teams are involved in the Canada West playoffs this weekend.

The Cougars men’s team played the University of Victoria Vikings last night, losing 74-52. They’ll take on the University of Saskatchewan for the bronze medal Saturday. Carter Millar scored 17 in the loss for the Cougars and also led the way with eight rebounds.

The Cougars women’s team faced Winnipeg Wesmen last night, losing 91-77. They’ll face Lethbridge Saturday in their bronze medal game. Cara Misskey dropped 25 points for the Cougars, and Jade Belmore added 11. Belmore and Julia Vydrova grabbed nine boards each.
