Saskatchewan rural municipalities are asking the province to take steps to reduce the wild deer population.
President Ray Orb says there are huge herds of deer and elk in some areas, causing a lot of damage to farmers hay land and hay stacks.
He says it is a particular concern, especially following last year’s drought and shortage of feed for livestock.
Orb says the province may need to increase the number of hunting licenses for mule deer.
He says resolutions on wildlife control were approved at the annual meeting last week in Regina.
