Struggling Rush fire head coach

With results not coming so far this season, the Saskatchewan Rush have fired their head coach Jeff McComb.

General manager Derek Keenan and offensive coach Jimmy Quinlan will serve as associate head coaches for the remainder of the season.

This was McComb’s first season in charge of the Rush and the former National Lacrosse League champions sit with a 4-10 record. McComb was named head coach in August 2020 but that winter’s season was cancelled due to the pandemic.

McComb was an assistant coach for three league titles for the Rush franchise.

“It’s clear we have not met expectations this year but it’s not all on Jeff McComb. He’s a great coach. He’s diligent, creative, and detailed. Jeff has done the work that’s expected of a head coach, but the team has not performed to the level of our expectations,” said Keenan in a media release.

The Rush return to action April 9th to host the Vancouver Warriors.
