Getzlaf set to retire at the end of season

Regina’s Ryan Getzlaf has announced today that he will be retiring at the end of the season.

Getzlaf is the all time leading scorer for the Anaheim Ducks in both the regular season and in the post season.

He has 282 goals and 1,013 points in 1,150 career regular-season games and added 37 goals and 120 points in 125 playoff games

Getzlaf also helped the Ducks win the Stanley Cup back in 2007.

The Ducks selected Getzlaf in the 1st round of the 2003 NHL Draft. The Regina product competed for Team Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships in 2004 and 2005.

The Ducks are currently out of the playoff picture, as it appears the Ducks captain final game will be on Friday, April 29 in Dallas against the Stars.
