Randy Goulden has been voted as the new president of the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association.
“I am very excited to be working with an incredible board of directors, staff, and all of the members across our province whether they are from a village, resort village, a northern municipality, a city, a town, SUMA is the voice for all those communities,” Goulden said. “I am really looking forward to working with everyone as we move the municipal issues forward to the provincial government.”
Goulden has served as the interim president since February of this year after the former president, Naicam Mayor Rodger Hayward, left the role after being promoted at his day job.
Goulden has been a member of the Yorkton City Council since 1997, has served on the SUMA Board of Directors and has been involved with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
She beat Shaunavon Mayor Kyle Bennett 349 to 156.
