The captain of the WHL’s Regina Pats was given a special, surprise honour.
Logan Nijhoff was named as “the Dayna Brons Honourary Award” winner.
The Award is given by Canadian Blood Services, and Hockey Gives Blood in honour of the former trainer of the Humboldt Broncos.
She died of her injuries a few days after the Broncos bus crash.
The award was created to recognize contributions to the community.

He is leaving Regina, as he has signed his first professional hockey contract.
