A University of Regina Cougars basketball player will have the chance to continue his career in Saskatchewan.
Benjamin Hillis was selected by the Saskatchewan Rattlers of the CEBL Draft on Tuesday.
Hillis was selected with the 7th pick in the second round.
This past season, Hillis was selected as a member of the Canada West First All Star Team.
Among for the achievements for Hillis during his time with the Cougars include being a five-time Academic All-Canadian, five-time recipient of Dean’s List Academic honours, Canada West Student-Athlete Community Service Award (2021-22), and he won the U SPORTS Ken Shields Award for Men’s Basketball Community Service (2021-22).
Prior to joining the Cougars, Hillis won a pair of provincial titles with Dr. Martin LeBoldus High School.
Hillis completes his collegiate career averaging 8.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 25.6 minutes in 104 collegiate games.
