The Hospitals of Regina Foundation announced the winners of its 2022 Spring Home Lottery.

The winners included the grand prize of a $1.4 million showhome.

Doreen Willerth from Indian Head won the grand prize and $30,000.

“I was working on my deck when my neighbours across from me ran over,” she said. “People kept coming and phoning me.”

Willerth said that she has been buying lottery tickets to support the hospital for the last two decades.

“I support them every year. I felt it was really important, as my husband had spent a lot of time in the General Hospital before he passed away,” she said. “I just buy it automatically. I don’t even look up what the prices are.”

As for what she plans to do with the home, Willerth said that at the age of 82, the home is too big for her, and she plans to sell it in the future.

Other winners include Donald O’Connor, Mary Lynne Birrell, Michael Fox, and Brendan Bennett, who won prices between $35,000 to $617,050.
